The Two Week Update

OK, so you've seen the photos and videos, and yes, he's that cute in person. We've been home with Joe a little over two weeks and its safe to say, that we are all getting used to having new roommates. Joe is getting used to us and we are trying not to ruin him for life. It seems simple, right? Feed him, change his diaper, cuddle with him, bathe him and make sure he's wearing a clean onsie at least every other day. Simple. We've had great friends come by and help with food and, giving us adult conversations that don't include, "I have no idea", or "what day is it?"..."have you showered?"..."how do I..." As you can tell, we need the stimulation so that we don't end up talking about martians and NBA free agency all night. Our friends have been great! Such nice people! We'd be lost without them. Thanks to all of you.

All our families have been awesome as well, with support, food, gifts, and many more things that my sleep deprived mind can't remember right now. Thanks to family!! yay!! Joe has yet to meet big brother Walker, but we've been telling him all about him, and I think Joe is pretty excited to have a big brother who's so smart and fun! Walker has been at the beach, and enjoying every minute of it for the past two weeks. What a lucky guy! We hope they meet soon.


Sarah is doing great and has really embraced her new role as 'mom'. She's very attentive to Joe's needs and I think she's doing a great job. Joe seems to have really taken a liking to her, and if you are a parent, you know how it feels to have your children need and want you. She's finally feeling that now, and she's running with it quite well. She and Joe have formed a real bond and that's great to see. Me? I'm not so sure Joe gets who washes all his clothes, changing table blankets, diapers, makes grocery store runs, and gets water and food for his mommy just yet, but I'll keep on trying!

As for Joe and all his health and well being? The doctors think he looks and sounds great, and he's eating like a maniac! He's still tiny to us, but we know he'll grow right before our eyes quickly. He's been awesome, save a few restless nights here and there, but hey, he's a baby, and that's what babies do. Poop and burp, that's right. We'll keep him anyways.

In summary, Joe sleeps, eats and sleeps some more. If his eyes are open (and he's not crying) we act quickly to get pictures taken. He seems to enjoy it. "show me blue steel, Joe!"
