Placeholder video
Until we have a chance to update with pics & video from our other adventures, please accept this morning's moment of toddlerness. Unedited, with some animal sounds, funny faces, and a birthday shout-out to Aunt Jeannette.
Sometimes toddlers need the "illusion of choice" so I asked Joe if he wanted his socks on his hands or his feet today. We ended up doing both, and the sock hand puppets were a nice distraction/source of amusement during our morning routine.

Later that day, Joe asked nicely for some chocolate. No reason to say no, so I gave him an appropriate serving (2 dark chocolate kisses, for those of you looking to indulge him in the future). It reminded me of our last visit to DC, and we made this video in homage.
We were staying at my mom's (a.k.a., The Lady) house, and it's bigger than our house. Joe generally preferred to stay on the same level that I was on, but toward the end of the visit, he was more willing to go up or downstairs without me. One day, we were heading out, and I told him that The Lady was upstairs and that he should go ask her for his jacket. It was the first time in awhile that he responded positively to a request to separate from me, so I was pretty excited. I heard him go upstairs, and chatter to The Lady, and she kindly turned him down. He persisted, asking again, and sounding frustrated. She turned him down again and redirected him to playing. I made my way up a few minutes later, and she told me that he came up and asked for chocolate, but she didn't give him any. I explained that I had sent him up for his jacket. Then we listened to him say both words.
For words that LOOK and MEAN completely different things, they sure do come out sounding alike.
