Giggles!

We have all been sick. As in Frank and I both made dr. appointments and have prescriptions sick. We're used to getting colds, taking it easy, and getting better but this time we weren't getting better. Until now. Thank you modern medicine!
Joe got it first, and got antibiotics right away, and was back to his jumping-in-his-crib, Tigger-like self in no time. He's going to take his first steps any day now, and has been delightfully curious and resourceful at entertaining himself, while his exhausted and in-denial-about-being-ill parents draped themselves on every possible horizontal surface.

9 months in, 9 months out

Joe is 9 months old (for 3 more days).

He loves playing hide and go seek behind the door.

 And this bell has been the most unexpected fun thing - he's great at ringing it and will crawl all over the house with it.

 I finally got him a swimsuit for our Saturday classes. He's pretty much a professional now.

 He loves riding on Daddy's shoulders and hold onto his hair really tight!

 He loves being out & about where ever the fun is (wonder where he gets that from).

 Sometimes he likes to hang out in his duckie robe (along with the bell)

 And of course pulling up on everything he can...

 ...which means that capturing him sitting still is tough (9 month photo).

 Diaper rash = naked guitar lesson!

 And his favorite source of treasures is the dishwasher. If its open the sightest amount he will find his way in.

Spring Break!

Where is the best place for families to spend a spring break? Where ever people spoil them!
We took a road trip to DC for a visit with family and friends. First, Frank & I did the National Half Marathon with Erin & Chip. It was a cold morning, but we all finished strong.

With the exercise portion of the vacation out of the way, we saw some sights and visited people:

Great-Grandma had a birthday and we had lunch with her. 

And Aunt Jeannette let Joe play with the straps of her fanny pack, and pull up on her legs. 

We also took Joe for his first trip to the zoo. We saw otters, the baby elephant, some apes, and lions and tigers. Joe has been practicing his elephant noises, and is working on his roar.

We made the trek to Rockville, where Joe got some great presents, had lots of fun playing, and did some glasses-snatching (one of his favorite activities).

That night, we went on a walk to get dinner, and Joe saw his first motorcade. It was Vice President Biden!

Since Joe seems to look like his Uncle Evo, we took some pictures to compare to evo's baby pics.

And in between all of these adventures, we played with some Very Nice People.
