scenes from christmas

Haven't taken the pictures off the camera yet, but did manage to capture a few videos. Joe learned a new word and food:

Chocolate. Very important.

And as  you can tell from the next video, "jacket' and "closet" sound pretty close to it as well.

The other day he was talking about something, and I found myself asking him, "Are you saying basketball or apple?" so there is some room for improvement in the enunciation department, but on the whole he gets his point across and is within normal developmental limits for language, and even pats his bottom to let us know that he pooped, then willingly runs to have his diaper changed, so yeah, he's FINE.

His daycare teacher gave him a present, and asked us to tell us what he thought of it. We took video for her, and it's pretty sweet:

One night we went to visit a friend, and a house in their neighborhood goes ALL OUT for Christmas. Their light display is VERY homemade looking, and is sychronized to a radio station that they broadcast themselves. Joe went crazy for it: we took him out of his carseat and he sat on frank's lat clapping, dancing and pointing to it while shouting "TREE!"
